RSS大混乱
（長くなりそうな気がしてきた）
ところでXMLには多少の問題がある．人が自由にタグを定義できるという利点が裏目に出る，すなわちどのようにでも定義できてしまうためにタグの体系の乱立が起こりやすい．これはある意味しょうがない．人の創造性は事実上無限大なので．すでにそこらじゅうであるタグ体系とあるタグ体系のすりあわせの必要性が出てきており，それを人がぽちぽちとやっている．コンピュータによるコンピュータのための言語の調整を人がやるという矛盾，それを完全とはいわないまでもある程度解決させたいというプロジェクトの産物がRDFである．RDFはXMLのサブセットと考えてもいい．XMLの自由度を少しだけ減らし，コンピュータの得意な三段論法的表記だけに限る．別に語彙（というか単語というか意味というか）を制限するわけではなく，書き順（文法）だけを決めておく．どうせコンピュータに意味は理解できまい，が，三段論法を追いかけていくのはどこまででもできる．その能力に期待して，いつかは意味の領域に踏み込みたいというのが人工知能であり，それをWebの世界に持ってきたのがセマンティックウェブだがこれはまあ寄り道の話．そんなわけでRDFはXMLをもう少しコンピュータ寄りにしたもので，当然ながら人の読み書きしやすさはXMLからちょっと離れる．で，もとの話に戻る．RSSは誰のためのものか．いまRSSを手書きしている人はほとんどいないだろう．たいていの場合はWeblogツールやWikiや変換スクリプトで生成し，それをまたツールで読み込む．そこに人は介在しない（プログラマーは除く）．ならばコンピュータよりのRDFこそがRSSにはふさわしいのではないか？長々と書いてきたが言いたいのはそれだけのこと．なのでsemblogとしては1.0の理念に賛成したいし，そのためのツールを作っていきたい．
一方で，相反するようだがEchoだかAtomだかの試みを否定しないでおこうとも思っている．しかしこれはコンピュータのための言語としてではなく，手書きのための言語としてだ．現在のRSSの中身はタイトル・本文・時間ぐらいのもので，これはWeblogツールがフォームを使ってタグなしの文章を書いてもらうようにできていることからくる限界だろう（がそれくらいシンプルにしたから普及した）．RSSをもっとリッチにという声は前からあって，それが例の抗争を生む原因になってはいる．ただどんなに詳細なフォーマットを作っても，タグなし文章からそこに落とし込むのはかなり大変．自然言語処理などなどを使っても100%完璧な変換は無理．そこでどうしても書き手に助けてもらわないといけないということになる．その際に簡単便利な手書きフォーマットは重要になるだろう．タグである必要はない（しタグは面倒なので反対）．Wiki表記みたいな印だけでもいい．Weblogツールがそれを読み込んでちゃんとしたRSSに変換してくれれば．こんな感じで人とコンピュータが互いに寄り添ってコンテンツをリッチにしてくれる，そううまい話はないかもしれないが，EchoだのAtomだのはそれを目標にしてほしいなあと思う．すると3.0のフォーマットはあながち悪くないなあ．．．
そんなわけで，おかしな争いはさっさと切り上げてもらいたいものである．完．
