また来週，とか書いておきながら全然着手できてない．すみません．ここ数日ホスティングサービスとしてのWeblogのことを考えている．まずは TypePad に申し込んでみた．せっかくなので一番高いProにする．これだとMT相当の機能は全部使えて複数のWeblogを立てられる．値段は年間で$130程度．悪くない．もう1つは12/2から始まった@niftyの ココログ ．TypePadベースでしかも日本語化がちゃんとなされているので機能的には類似サービスより頭ひとつ抜けていると思われる（ただしさすがに複数Weblogは無理）．事前の噂では無料のコンテンツ会員になれば使えるとされていたのだが，実際は月額950円以上のプロバイダ契約を結ぶ必要があるので年換算だと1万を超える．クオリティを考えればそんなに高くないとは思う（ダイアルアップアカウントとしても使えるし，当然）．が，しかし．Weblogと有料ホスティングはあまり相性がよろしくなさそうな気がする．いったん始めるとやめようがないのだ．問題はそのデータ形式にある．これまでのWebスペースの貸し出しの場合にはFTPだの何だので完全にバックアップが取れるし新たにスペースを移行してもURIの周知が面倒な以外にはデメリットはない．一方で有料Weblogの場合，飽きてきたりお金が続かなくなった場合にデータを存続させる術がない．Weblogツールは足回りのDB等がよくできているが故に互換性には期待できないし，そもそもDBから生データを取り出す手段など提供されないだろう（まさかダンプする？）．TypePad/MTの例に限れば静的なHTMLを生成するのでそれを集めておくことはできるかもしれないが，それとて完全なデータではない（エクスポートという手段もあったなあ，でも問題は同じ）．そんなわけで，個人ごとのコンテンツアーカイブとして永続的にネットに載せておく手段として，有料Weblogホスティングというのはなかなかつらい．もちろんプロバイダー側としてはずっと契約を続けてもらえばいいのだけれども，個人のコンテンツを知ってか知らずか人質に取ってしまうのは好ましいことではない．うちのところでも実験を兼ねて日記をTypePadベースに移行するつもりだったのだが，この問題について有効な解決策が見いだせていないので当面は延期することにした．システムとしてはMTよりもさらに優秀っぽいし，ぜひ使いたいんやけどなあ．．．いい方法があったら教えてください．
