神崎さんのページ にてTrackBackに関する情報がどんどん更新されています．ここでの議論とシンクロしているような気がするのは気のせいではない．．．のでしょうか？（自信なし）さて，semblog.orgが提案しているsemblog moduleの話の続き．なぜ「わざわざ」こんなことをやる必要があるのか，もしかしたらsemblogの中の人は全然わかってないのではないか，と自分でも混乱しはじめていたのだが，ひとつ前提条件というかこちらの設定について触れていないことがあるのを思い出した．そのあたりの話を含めて書いてみる．

記事（エントリ）間の指した/指された関係を記述する語彙として，神崎さんが 指摘 されている<dcterms:references>と<dcterms:isReferencedBy>についてはだいぶ前に検討していた．いま思えばそれを素直に採用すれば，という気もするが，そうしなかったのには理由があって，それはmsano氏も 書いている とおり（後半の議論），そもそもsemblog moduleはRSSのために提案したのではなく，RSS風のメタデータを各エントリごとに付加するための枠組み（ここでは仮にRDF Content Summary: RCSと呼ぶ）を作る，そのためのものだった．<semblog:in>と<semblog.out>はRCS内で他のRCSの指した/指された関係を書くために用意し，もとのHTMLに対しては<dcterms:references>と<dcterms:isReferencedBy>で処理する，もしくは<semblog:in>と<semblog.out>でメタデータ間を移動してあとは<link>でもとのHTMLに辿り着けばよい，と考えていた．

もちろんこれはあまりにも巨大で無謀な計画である．誰もが各エントリに対して1つ1つメタデータを付加する時代が来るのか（もちろんツールで自動生成するとしても），そしてこのモデルはある意味でメタデータフォーマット（RCS）の方をコンテンツ本体であるとみなし，HTMLはそこから派生したプレゼンテーションの1つぐらいにしか扱っていない．果たしてそんなややこしいモデルが受け入れられるのか．別に弱気になっているわけではないが，少し考え直した方がいいかもしれない．現在のsemblog.orgにはいくらなんでも世間のソフトの実装を変えさせるような力はない（その意味でSix Apartは偉大なり）．メタデータ流通という目標を考えると，何をするにも一度はHTMLを通らないといけないやり方というのはなかなか面倒なのであるが，一方でどのようにでも対応できるようにしておこうとすると現状では冗長なデータが増えるし，悩みどころではある．とりあえずは<dcterms:references>と<dcterms:isReferencedBy>でHTMLを指すようにして，いずれ時が来たら？RCSを指すようにすればいいのかなあ．

やはりメタデータの話はひとりでやってもあんまり意味がない．こういう問題意識というのは誰がどういう文脈で持っているのかを知りたいところ． intersite ML で話してもいいのだろうか．もしくは自分で何か立ち上げた方がいいのか．
